AT-AT Liquor Cabinet

Behold the AT-AT liquor cabinet, that or the most elaborate cocaine storage and entertainment dispenser in existence. It looks to stand around five feet tall and is made from wood and brass hardware. Nobody is really sure who built the All Terrain Armored Transport since these images just magically appeared last week without anyone claiming [...]

AT-AT Pancakes

What’s the perfect addition to a Bacon AT-AT you wonder? Why it would be AT-AT pancakes of course. After making some super scientific blueprints, Jim of Jim’s Pancakes set out to create an All Terrain Armored Transport in pancake form. The pancake AT-AT consists of 13 individual pieces, all held together with pancake batter. Delicious.

For this year’s Bacon Day celebration I decided to head back to the weapons theme that started this all. The fully functioning BA-Zooka measures 36″ long and is 4″ in diameter. It took 15 lbs of bacon to complete the launcher. The BA-Zooka is capable of launching model rockets and summer sausages and is powered by an eight pack of AA batteries. After flipping the illuminated rocker switch the BA-Zooka will begin to beep alerting everyone around that it is armed and ready to fire. Pushing the momentary switch, which acts as the trigger, your rocket or sausage is launched. I definitely need to work on my meat ballistics, but this thing was a ton of fun to build and fire. All of the bacon used this year was donated because it was past the expiration date. Not ideal for eating, but perfect for working with.

Bacon Day 2011

It's that time of year again. Like last year, Bacon Day will be held at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Everything starts up around 2 pm and goes until sunset. Yard games (bag-o, horseshoes, flying discs), camping chairs, blankets, and coolers would all be great things to bring. If you're in the area, you should definitely [...]

Bacon Camp San Francisco: May 8, 2010

Bacon Camp is a celebration of all things bacon where chefs and pork lovers unite. A day full of sculptures, creations, and delicious bacon. All proceeds go to the San Francisco Food Bank, which will make eating all that bacon even better. Good causes are scientifically known to make bacon taste far more delicious. Fact. [...]

Bacon AT-AT

I needed a follow up to last year’s BA-K-47 for our 2nd annual Bacon Day. The Bacon AT-AT was actually what I wanted to build before, but didn’t have enough time, so it seemed like the natural choice. The Bacon AT-AT stands 3 ft tall and is made with over 40 lbs of bacon. The body was made from foam, then the bacon was attached. This beast took 21 non-stop hours to build. If you’ve ever once thought to cook 40 lbs of bacon in your kitchen in one sitting, I can now personally advise against it.

AT-AT & Millennium Falcon Cakes

Jennifer Luxmore of Sin Dessert made these two badass Star Wars cakes. The cake artists said they put in around 60 hours to build the AT-AT cake. Interested in having one made? Well, that's gonna set you back a cool $5,000. Jennifer also made the Millennium Falcon, which was a groom's cake for one of her friends. [...]
