Brighten Up Your Life with Colored Bacon
Tue, June 22, 2010
I wasn't aware of any problems with bacon, but Neil Caldwell decided that there was indeed some room for improvement. Neil created this color wheel of bacon by soaking the strips in a food coloring bath. He could've easily photoshopped some pork, but instead went for the real route. Notice in the photos below that even after being cooked, the bacon retained the color quite well.

Bacon Camp San Francisco: May 8, 2010
Wed, April 28, 2010
Bacon Camp is a celebration of all things bacon where chefs and pork lovers unite. A day full of sculptures, creations, and delicious bacon. All proceeds go to the San Francisco Food Bank, which will make eating all that bacon even better. Good causes are scientifically known to make bacon taste far more delicious. Fact. Lucky for you, Bacon Camp is coming very soon.
BaconCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment about bacon. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event. It is community driven and everyone is encouraged to participate by presenting (food, art, demo), judging, or volunteering. BaconCamp is not a spectator sport.
If you live in the San Francisco area (I'm talking to you Paul) you should definitely check it out.

PETA Upset About Animals Being Used In Mafia Wars
Tue, April 27, 2010
No. Not real life animals in mafia fights, just video game animals. PETA is upset about the introduction of animals used as combat items in the game. What sort of animals are on the list that they're upset about? Well, a liger made the cut. You know, the one that is a mix between a lion and a tiger... bred for its skills in magic.
Check out the other animals on the list and PETA's letter to the CEO of Mafia Wars after the jump.
